This is a great book for parents to use as a starting point to talk about bodies, changes, boys girls, differences similarities, and where babies come from If you ve ever had that uhwell conversation, this is a great tool Very descriptive without being over the top Conversational context My 6 year old is VERY interested and seems to be soaking it up I can see the wheels turning We talk about how not all families may be ready to talk about these words and to not use them at school, etc but now I [...]

We got this book when Logan was 4 and we look at it off and on The first couple times, we just read it straight through Now we use it as a reference book when he has a question I especially like the first part that shows the differences between boys and girls and the section on Okay Touches, Not Okay Touches The only part the Logan was really confused by was the double page spread on the sperm and the egg coming together It s all cartoons, so the egg and sperm are given expressive faces and Log [...]

This book is aimed at ages 4 8, and has lots of cartoons and short parts as part of the description I like the way it starts with real basic questions, like how are girls and boys the same and different It has a conversational tone, but clear information with lots of illustrations drawings that look realistic It shows special parts on the outside of boys and girls bodies, and on the inside of their bodies It does talk about sex, but in a way I m comfortable with When grownups want to make a baby [...]

I read this to my daughter after she had a lot of questions about where babies came from I read her the book and answered questions The book is meant for ages 4 and up My daughter is 4 Some of it went into a lot of details and pictures, but she had questions She wanted to know why boys stood up when they pee after seeing a kid at daycare and other questions like that She kept wanting to look ahead at the book but I told her she had to wait to look at it until we finished reading it We are done n [...]

This is an excellent sex ed book I would advise some caution in recommending it to parents, however, because it is one of the most challenged children s books This is probably because it has pretty explicit images given the fact that it s recommended for ages 4 and up For example, in the section about sex, it shows a mom and dad in bed having sex albeit with blankets on in the ages 12 and up version it shows the same couple without blankets It also has pictures of vaginas and penises, and naked [...]

I realized I needed to educate my six year old son when I found him pinching his nipples before a shower and when I told him not to, he asked, These are nipples That same day, I noticed him adjusting himself and looking uncomfortable After some questioning, we discovered he had been experiencing a normal fact of life for some time Thankfully, I heard about this book, which I ordered from BN yay for free membership shipping , along with its companion book for older kids It s So Amazing I read thi [...]

A great informational book for children and parents looking to explain the long dreaded question Where do babies come from With this book parents can be prepared and ready to answer without any confusion or lies The book is very straight forward in its descriptions and kid friendly illustrations about the bodies of girls and boys It s accurate, comforting, and positive in its approach to the topics of the sex, the similarities, and the differences of boys and girls, and most definitely deserves [...]

If you get my updates you know I ve been looking for books to help my husband and I teach our children about sexuality, growing up, puberty, intimacy, etc etc etc I m in the middle of reading this book with my 2 girls, ages 7 and 8 It s been great to have as a guide and starting point for discussions They ve laughed at many things and taken it all in stride I feel like they re learning and gaining an appreciation for their wonderful bodies I also want to emphasize to them the spiritual aspects o [...]

I was looking for a book to read to my 4.5 year old and very curious son about where babies come from A friend recommended this book to me It s terrific Informative without giving too much information and definitely age appropriate for children over age 4 Even though we had already talked about the differences between boy and girl bodies and about how a baby is made from a sperm and an egg, this book really helped to clarify things in an non scary way I also very much appreciated the section abo [...]

Well, I ll be honest the text was a little too wordy to read straight through to my very active five year old So we looked at the pictures, discussed it, and I paraphrased some of the text The illustrations are VERY good, with lots of multiculturalism It talks about the similarities between boys and girls, then their physical differences It talks about sperm meeting the egg It says there are different kinds of families, includings ones with two daddies It talks about okay touches and bad touches [...]

We didn t set out reading this book because we thought it was time our kids learned where babies come from I just picked it up on a recommendation and my kids can t get enough of it They love learning about the human body always have Hopefully because they re learning these things at such young ages, we ll avoid the one big awkward talk about sex They will have just always known and it won t be any big deal We can hope right Anyway, I recommend this book but I don t have anything to compare it a [...]

It s that time for us I thought this book did a good, clear job of explaining things in an accurate, matter of fact, not weird or scary way My 8 year old and I will be reading this tomorrow I knew I wanted to teach my children in a simple clear way, but I was kind of lost about how to do it well How to make it accurate, without being mysterious or weird I think this book finds that balance, so I don t have to.

This is a great sex positive book It talks about bodies and sex and babies in an age appropriate way I read it with my almost 4 year old and it was great She asked a couple of questions and we talked about it a couple times I feel like this has really helped set the tone for future conversations.

A common sense, down to earth introduction to anatomy, sex, and reproduction for youngsters I actually enjoyed reading this to my 6 year old son, and it opened up a level of conversation between us that I hope will help make talking about sex and related topics with similarly easy as he grows.

Beautifully appropriate and captivating for my 4 year old and I am sure it will continue to be so for the next few years to come.

This is a book every progressive parent should have on their bookshelf For ages 4 8, it is a basic body understanding book as well as basic sex education, and answering the question honestly and truthfully of where babies come from to young children It is a solid honest start for parents who do not wish to shelter their children from the facts of life It is all cartoon drawings Parts I especially liked that it is honest and uses actual names of body parts That it begins with explaining how boys [...]

This book covers a lot of ground, in a manner appropriate for young children It describes male vs female anatomy, explains in very basic terms how babies are made, and coaches kids on the concept of bad touches It even describes IVF and adoption and different types of families 1 mom and 1 dad, 1 mom, 1 dad, 2 moms, 2 dads It describes these family types without delving into the details of same sex physical relationships Illustrations show families of many colors, including multiracial families R [...]

After reading the American Girl, The Care and Keeping of You, my daughter was looking for something a little in depth that could answer her questions The American Girl books never touched on any of the reproductive systems and after having the sex talk and discussing how babies are made, she wanted a book that also explained I think this was a great book, that described the reproductive process in a child friendly way.

Before my kids started school we checked this book out from the library and I let them look through it and ask me questions, we mostly just read the headings until somebody would find something interesting and ask to hear about whatever it was I really wanted them to learn the truth about reproduction at home and factually.

My kids really liked this book It s not a story book, but each set of pages pictures covers different topics When didn t get to some of them, so would like to check this book out again in a few months.

This is a fantastic book to start the birds and the bees talk with kids I was looking for a book to teach my 5 and 8 year old the proper names for their parts I ve seen this book several times at the library I started with my 8 year old son who has had no interest in where babies come from I planned to only read the pages about the names of body parts to him but he was so fascinated we read the entire book together from cover to cover I can t imagine a better way to have the talk than lying in b [...]

Ages 4 8 For 4 year olds, this book is overwhelming in scope The content is appropriate in my opinion, but the book is too dense I could see me showing just a few pages at a time for my children, which makes it a better option to buy than borrow from a library Unlike Its Perfectly Normal, the illustrations are less graphic There is a picture of each genders genitalia, but it is for defining features and function A definition is given for vaginal intercourse one time purely in explanation of repr [...]

This is an incredibly comprehensive sex ed book for children It takes you on a journey along with a bird and a bee who interject questions and comments from anatomy of boys and girls, how that changes when they become adults, sperm and eggs, sex no graphic images here, though , fertilization including doctor assisted fertilization , how pregnancy works, ultrasounds, birth including different birth locations and methods , various baby feeding methods, what babies need and want, to thing like diff [...]

My kids 8, 6, and 3 LOVE this book Maybe especially now that we re expecting another baby, but they also loved it when I first picked it up a year or so ago I wouldn t say that all parents will like it, because everyone has their own level of comfort when it comes to explaining sex But it s perfect for my family and the approach my husband and I have taken with our kids open, not telling everything, but pretty much telling the basics, and answering questions honestly The cartoon illustrations ar [...]
