The rhyme and cadence of this book is appealing and lends itself to a lot of fun and interaction with your child Cute variation on an old standard Illustrations feature a diverse set of children with is a nice change from so many white babies in books My daughter requests this book so often I have to keep checking it out from the library.

Was hoping for the song, but this was not an illustrated version of the lyrics.

This adorable board book is a wonderful story that is sure to be enjoyed time and again by big and little readers alike Mary Brigid Barrett takes the first part of the well known nursery rhyme Pat a cake, pat a cake, clap, clap, clap, and continues by talking about other things that can be patted Young toddlers will have fun identifying the different items on each page The rhyme and catchy meter make it easy for little readers to try to guess what the final rhyming word of the sentence might be [...]

Board book I picked up while at a baby class in the library today Cute illustrations and the text is fun to read out loud to children The layouts are colorful and catches the attention of my newborn.

This is a book based off of the popular game pat a cake that most children will have played before seeing this book, bringing in the familiar phrase and fun Every page has different kids patting on different silly things illustrated in bright colors Every page had something different that the kids are patting on, from jiggly pudding to a squirmy caterpillar During every new thing getting pat on have the students standing and acting out the funny item that is being pat on Finish the book with hav [...]

Who knew this Bookmill find would prove such a enduring crowd pleaser Babies enjoy both patting and reading about patting, it seems The rhyme is a bit of an earwig, but the pictures are cute and SPOILER ALERT the book ends with a cuddling family which includes a mama and a baba or at least a papa without facial hair I ll take it Good mix of characters of all races, if, like me, you re attempting to build a library of books that looks like the actual world and not the Upper East Side thirty years [...]

A board book reimagining of the classic children s nursery rhyme in which toddlers are encouraged to explore their environment by patting the objects that make up their world.LOVE the gouache and watercolor illustrations The joy depicted in the racially diverse faces of the children performing the suggestions of the text are excellent Highly recommended read aloud for toddlers.

There s something incredibly charming about the phrase pat a pickle, cold and bumpy The illustrations of the kids are a tad creepy the kids eyes are just a shade too large and the grins too wide, but babies and toddlers will probably enjoy those exaggerated features Nice inclusion of racially diverse people in the illustrations.

This board book is good for helping to describe textures of different foods A good activity would be to connect the objects discussed in this book with objects in real life There are rhymes and sounds incorporated, also, which add to the enjoyment of this story.

I love the illustrations in this book The children are happy and playful.

Though it begins the same, this isn t the traditional nursery rhyme Cute illustrations.

I thought this was a creative version of pat a cake cute

So Much Fun Pat a puddle, SPLATT

Cute illustrations but the words themselves were a bit confusing, as I kept trying to fall into the nursery rhyme tune, and failing.

Cute take on an old children s rhyme.
