On Skeleton Lake, couples aren t soulmates they re two halves of one soul But what happens when the other half of your own soul just isn t enough In this somber prequel to Skeleton Lake, Cassie feels trapped in a relationship that was pre ordained by the Lake itself It s not that she doesn t love Raiden, the other half of her soul she also loves his brother, the Hollow Conrad Torn apart by forbidden love, her only confidants an angel of death and an invisible boy, it can t end well for Cassie.Th [...]

In this prequel we find out about both of the main male characters of Skeleton Lake, Raiden and Conrad, as well as much about Cassie, the underlying current of the book Where as in Skeleton Lake Cassie is but an ever present whisper, in The Skeleton Song we see everything from her eyes She has a powerful voice and a compelling one as well She isn t a very likable character because of the actions she takes, most notably romantically. The writing is excellent per usual, the story is a nice one an [...]

The Skeleton Song is an awesome prequel to Skeleton Lake, and it is told from the voice of Cassie In this novella we get to find out why Raiden and Conrad have such conflict, about the past of those two characters, and why Cassie has died, again This story is absolutely amazing Cassie is such a likable character and her problems become real as you read This book expresses depression quite vividly not explaining the boring solutions we hear on how to overcome it, but what it really feels like to [...]

Rating 3.5 5First thank to the author for offering me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review I have to say I wasn t sure about what the book would really be about when I first started it but the blurb got my attention and the idea was original I read this short first so I discovered Cassie for the first time through this book and I ve been sucked into her story with both Conrad and Raiden You can easily feel the anguish she s going through by loving both brothers and making them su [...]

This book is a prequel to a series that I have not yet read I thought that, considering that it was a prequel and likely set up the series, that I could read it first and that it would make sense I was mistaken. While I grasped the concept of the world the book creates, I definitely felt that giant pieces of the puzzle were missing and that I was constantly squinting to read between the lines and glean something that made sense It s not enough to make me want to read the series.

Rating 4 out of 4 stars Before I begin writing my review of the content of this book, I feel that I must comment on the stunning cover of this novella It is absolutely gorgeous It does exactly what a good cover should it draws your eye Kudos go to the cover artist Now, on to the book Skeleton Lake certainly lives up to its name I feel the need to mention that the beginning is a bit traumatic, but it is certainly memorable Though drowning isn t the way that most adventures start, it is the only w [...]

Cassie s perspective gives new depth to the Hollows series in The Skeleton Song In Skeleton Lake we learn that Cassie is the original possessor of the soul that Marlow later inherits Yet we never got to hear Cassie s side for committing suicide until now Picking up the story from Cassie s point of view we learn a multiple of things such as, why she fell in love with both Conrad and Raiden What her inner conflicts and struggles were How she originally came to the lake and so much As it turns out [...]

I read Skeleton Lake first and for some reason when I started this I thought it was the sequel to Skeleton Lake Well let me say I was confused and had no idea what was going on in the beginning, until I realized it was the prequel to Skeleton Lake That is totally my fault, but made it really hard to get into it since I felt so lost as to what was going on Once I realized my error I actually enjoyed this better than I did Skeleton Lake I felt connected to main character, Cassie, than I did to Ma [...]

Angela Kulig has written a paranormal, suspenseful tale that is the prequel to Skeleton Lake The Skeleton Song begins, as Cassie tells the story of how she was three years old when she was informed she would never see her parents again describing a new family where there was no love, where she was dumped into water that burned her flesh away, as she screamed out in pain That s how this story began This prequel goes into much of the detailed background for Cassie, Conrad and Raiden further develo [...]

Not sure what I read.I m honesty not sure what I read, but the writing was so hauntingly intriguing I didn t understand all the talk about souls and bones and skeletons It made absolutely no sense But the inner thoughts of the main character were so twisted and riveting, that I kept reading to the end Crazy, I know I wish I knew what the main character was Demon Cyborg Who the freak knows And the minor characters What s a hollow Was the boy death Was the other boy a ghost Human But I still could [...]

I eagerly awaited this prequel to Skeleton Lake and it did not disappoint Once again the romance was tasteful but left me with goosebumps all over This book met two of my biggest hallmarks of a good read I stayed up way too late reading it, and I found my mind with the characters at Skeleton Lake for days after I finished reading it All that said, I think what impressed me the most about this book was how well the author captured the frantic, desperate, dizzying emotional downward spiral of the [...]

The writing was lyrical and poetic, but I don t feel like the author did enough world building for me As a prequel, I thought that readers would get a good understanding of the world magic afterlife situation but I felt larger confused and underwhelmed How did Cassie come to Skeleton Lake Die How did she meet the brothers What do these characters even look like I didn t get any of that information I felt kind of robbed of the real story because I didn t have enough details I couldn t emotionally [...]

Skeleton Song tells us the story of Cassie and its told from point of view We find out why Cassie came to Skeleton Lake, why she loves both Raiden and Conrad As the story is told from Cassie s POV it includes her thoughts, feeling and emotions as her life unfolds.Cassie tells of how Raiden is the other half of her soul, he just isn t enough for herSkeleton Song also explains a little about Raiden and Conrad s relationship too.If you enjoyed Skeleton Lake then I think you will enjoy Skeleton Son [...]

The Skeleton Song is a little snippet into this world, and we get some back story on Cassie We get to see Cassie s inner demons and just what made this soul do what it did It s makes Marlow s feeling a little clear.I will say that the introduction of some characters really confused the heck out of me, why in the world was he there This was a fast story, and I totally felt as though it was a tad rushed I wish that I had read this one before I started the series, it would have made a few things c [...]

Angela Kulig is a new author to me, I went in unsure about this book, but something about the cover the blurb struck me I found myself enjoying the book but feeling a little lost at the same time It was intense dark from the very begining, continuing until the final words The Skeleton Song is the prequel to the Hollows series, although I found myself lost throughout this introduction I do want to read what happens next.

When I started reading I didn t really grasp the story but I persevered and ta da I m so glad I did This prequel was tragic, heartfelt, inviting, dark And once I got into it I was gutted I d finished I hate to use spoilers in a review as it gives too much away But the love triangle was fascinating I loved the way Kulig described the lake and the characters So intense Fab read Now onto Skeleton Lake

I have absolutely no idea what this book was about, who it was about, or where they were I understand it was a prequel to a series, but it read like the middle of a book and I missed the beginning I kept reading because I assumed, at some point, there would be an explanation, but

What a totally depressing story While the lore is interesting certainly unique, anyway , I couldn t get past the main character s drive to destroy herself and the two boys closest to her The writing wasn t bad, but it was overshadowed by the bleak atmosphere.

    Vanessa Bird
This is possibly the worst book I have ever read.I persevered until halfway through as I don t like to give up on a book, but this was too much to bare Terrible dialogue, poor plotting, woeful structure This read like a sixteen year olds creative writing project.

    Brandi
Interesting this is a short story to give a little insight to the book it was very poetic and I loved it actually I would say I loved this short story better than the actual book that being said I only gave it 3 stars because of the length.

    Ciecie
