I really shouldn t judge a book by its cover But I get lured in by cute artwork especially when browsing the recently returned but not yet shelved cart at the library.Picked this one up on Saturday based on the knitted heart Didn t know it would be a romance novel Not really my thing Like another reviewer said, it was like a bad Harlequin romance from the 80s There was no spark between the two characters More like they were the only two single people in the story so they HAD to hook up, randomly [...]

I might be a bit partial since I think Rachael is pretty awesome, but I am not a romance girl Or at least I didn t think I was until I read her first book Her version of romance is suspenseful, sometimes intense, and written in a way that allows for strong male and female characters The fact that knitting is woven in without being forced is just a bonus

Lucy Harrison s life was irrevocably changed and set when she kissed Cypress Hollow s resident bad boy, Owen Bancroft She may have been only seventeen, and he did leave the very next day but that kiss proved to be the standard by which all of Lucy s other kisses have been measured And, unfortunately, Owen set the norm for men in her life who love her and leave her.But that s okay Lucy has come to accept the fact that she will always be alone She will find joy and happiness in running the Booksp [...]

I really enjoyed this book and I m not just saying that because I won a galley from the author Hi Rachel This book brings us back to Cypress Hollow with the story of Lucy Owen A bad boy ex cop struggling to redefine his identity and a bookseller with some issues of her own.Toots was by far my favorite character and she had me cracking up anytime she showed up in the story Lucy on the other had while I did like her over all there were a few moments when I just wanted to smack her upside the head [...]

I m on the fence about giving this book 2 or 3 stars No, I won t settle for a 2.5 Some details of this story are cute and charming, others are ridiculous and inconceivable I like some of supporting characters, namely Molly and Whitney They are nothing if not consistent and always pretty supportive of Lucy, who needs all the help she can get Also, I appreciate that this is a knitting related story and that terms are scattered throughout the plot, even if Lucy does bust out her knitting at some in [...]

I don t think this book is as strong as the first There are new characters and nods to character established in the first book This is fine, however, there are inconsistencies In the first book, there was a small amount of knitting around town, but not much In this book, there is I hate to say it an actually unbelievable and unrealistic amount of knitting The impression here is that anyone female is somehow required or expected to knit There are only a couple of exceptions, and somehow I think t [...]

How could I not like a book that describes it s main characters romantic interest as being like Matt Dillon s character, Dally in The Outsiders Rachael Herron has done it again She has successfully woven no pun intended knitting into a romance Lucy runs a book shop, The Book Spire in the small town of Cypress Hollow Her life isn t that exciting until Owen Bancroft walks back into her life Owen was the highschool kiss she never forgot but was it the same for him Then when through Owen she discove [...]

So enjoyed this second book in the Cypress Hollow Yarn series Now I want to learn to knit If you like stories with a bookstore, knitting, and a wonderful bunch of characters, then you should read Rachael Herron s books I like the romance and humor, a few sexy romps and a little mystery, then you should grab these books From From international bestseller Rachael Herron, comes a book too delightful to put down Lucy Harrison sells books by day and volunteers with the Cypress Hollow fire department [...]

I enjoyed returning to Cypress Hollow in this story The story of Owen and Lucy was slightly less compelling to me than that of Abigail and Cade I liked the history between the two, but had a hard time believing the insta love in this case There was also added action that felt somewhat unnecessary to me.This book was a good escape, but nothing super memorable to me Enjoyable, brief, and sweet.

An easy read but very choppy plot progression Charming romance and crude at the same time.

    Nice knitting yarn.

While I enjoyed the story, I think the author went a little in depth about the love making and sex toys than needed I guess I am just one of those people who doesn t need that to enjoy a book,,

4.5 starsHow To Knit a Heart Back Home was another great read This series is a lot of fun and Eliza reminds me of the mayor in Susan Mallery s Fool s Gold series, always fixing people up with what they need when they need it I love it.Lucy has always had a crush on bad boy Owen She loved him back in high school, and they shared one magical kiss only to find Owen left town later that night She also is afraid of losing everything She is afraid of a lot of things, but she tries to project this fear [...]

I really wanted to like this book as I love both romance stories and knitting In the end I found the lack of character development just too annoying Lucy was as insecure and whiney at the end of the book as she was in the beginning.

I grabbed this novel from the new release section of my city library because I m a knitter, too As I checked it out I admit to a bit of skepticism I ve read too many books that had plots so predictable as to become boring I ve read even when the world in which the novel resides is full of errors, such as the straps on the horse s head, instead of the experience horseman riding the horse calling it a bridle, or an entire book about igloos in Alaska Never has there ever been an authentic igloo on [...]

How could her heart hurt so much and still keep beating Oh My Goodness This book is so perfect It intrigued me from the first page and I couldn t tear my eyes away, not that I wanted to anyway This is the first book I have read from Rachel and I know it s the second in the series but it honestly made no difference I was hooked and nothing was confusing Could very well be a standalone if I didn t know it was part of a series This was also my first read about knitting and I m glad to say I didn t [...]

Looking at the cover of this book , you could almost swear that it has that Outback Australian look to it or then again, it could be just me LOL Though the girl on the cover does give a bit of a Jessica Biel look a like or is that just me as well Lucy s Kiss is one of those ideal reads for the women that love romance, bookshops , small towns and the art of Knitting Lucy s Kiss is set in the heart of a small town called Cypress Hollow and follows the main character Lucy Harrison who owns a cute k [...]

iwriteinbooks.wordpress 20Lucy s book selling business in small town Cypress Hollow, may be cooling down but her nights are heating up Though not a risk taker, Lucy is happy in her cozy knitting nook, though she has seen many of her high school buddies branch out and take life by the horns She was, that is, until an accident landed her in fate s sneaky hands. All of a sudden, Lucy s carefully arranged, never shaken, very safe life, takes an unexpected turn with the rather dramatic return of, old [...]

I have the Australian copy Lucy s Kiss not the USA version that shows the knitting cover The Australia version does not fully explain the role that knitting plays in this story, so if your not a knitter it can be rather frustrating and slightly annoying until you get past the first 100 or so pages just a warning for those like me who had no idea how important and how often it is mentioned. There is a knitting quote at the top of every chapter as well, so be warned.Once I got used to the knitting [...]

Herron s follow up book to How To Knit A Love Song is a strong and fun sequel The town of Cypress Hollow open up in this second novel, bringing in characters and getting a better overall feel of the town Abigail and Cade make a couple of appearances, making this book like catching up with a good friend you haven t spoken to in a while.Lucy is a well rounded character She s flawed, selfish, kind, passionate She s many different things, wearing many different hats, which may be why I can relate [...]

I should have written this review right after reading well, listening to the book Darn it.I really enjoyed the first book in the series, and wanted to like this one than I did, sadly While I can t recall all the specific quibbles I had, I do remember 2 the heroine and the knitting. Now, I do appreciate characters with issues because that is true to life lots of people do lots of things based on prior experience s that so profoundly impacts them that it becomes a new part of their character Howev [...]

My edition is the Kindle ebook edition.Fans of How to Knit a Love Song will be enchanted by Lucy, Owen, and even characters from Cypress Hollow I really love how the town and the close knit ha citizens are developing I may need to go back and read How to Knit a Love Song, but it seemed like there was even MORE knitting in this book than in the last one Rachael Herron s passion for her day job also shines through in this installment it did in the last one, too, but again, it just seems like MORE [...]

Set in Cypress Hollow, the same fictional California town as Herron s first novel How to Knit a Love Song , this book picks up a few years later and focuses on Lucy Harrison, who runs a bookstore in the town, and Owen Bancroft, her high school bad boy crush who has come back to town to care for his mother The story starts with a crash, literally, and ends in triumph Well, of course, it s a love story The trip from start to finish, however, is as much about self discovery as about finding love, a [...]
