A Shot At Glory (1999)

Dir. Michael Corrente / UK / Drama, Sport / Colour / 114m

In the fishing village of Kilnockie, a second-division football club sharing the same name struggles under the management of Gordon McLeod, played by Robert Duvall. Faced with pressure from the new American owner, he is forced to bring on a marquee player (played by real-life Scottish football legend Ally McCoist) to improve the fortunes of the team and prevents it being moved from the fiercely loyal town it's been with for a century. Along the way, McLeod must battle his own demons, including long-standing tiffs with both his daughter and a former colleague who betrayed him.

This urban tale plays out against the gritty backdrop of Crail, Dumbarton and Dumfries.
